Functional Diagram
General Descrion
The HMC82LP5E is a MIC low pass filter which
features a user selectablcutoff frequency. The
cutofequey can be varied from 4.5 to 7.6 GHz
by appla single nalog tuning voltage between
0 and 14V. is lpass filter provides a low 2.9 dB
insertion loss, 0 dB return loss and 1.23 x ƒcutoff
topband aenuation of >20 dB. This tunable filter can
bseas a much smaller alternative to physically
large switched filter banks and cavity tuned filters.
The HMC882LP5E has excellent microphonics due
to the monolithic design, and provides a dynamically
adjustable solution in advanced communications
applications. The low pass tunable filter is packaged
in a RoHS compliant 5x5mm QFN leadless package.

The circuit board used in the application should
use RF circuit design techniques. Signal lines sho-
uld have 50 Ohms impedance while the package
ground leads and exposed paddle should be con-
nected directly to the ground plane similar to that
shown. A sufficient number of via holes should be
used to connect the top and bottom ground planes.
The evaluation circuit board shown is available from
