WARNING: Not To Be Used for Personnel Protecꢀon
Never use this device as a sensing device for personnel protecꢀon. Doing so could lead to
serious injury or death. This device does not include the self-checking redundant circuitry
necessary to allow its use in personnel safety applicaꢀons. A sensor failure or malfuncꢀon can
cause either an energized or de-energized sensor output condiꢀon.

number of any cabled sensor (for example, QM42VN6D W/30). Models
with a QD connector require a maꢀng cable.

All models except emiꢁers: 15-turn sloꢁed brass GAIN (sensiꢀvity) adjustment

Two LEDs: green and amber
Protected against reverse polarity and transient voltages
Green solid = power to sensor is on (Opposed emiꢁers: Green power "on")
Green ꢃashing = output is overloaded
Amber solid = light is sensed; normally open output on

SPDT (complementary) solid-state dc switch; Choose NPN (current sinking) or PNP
(current sourcing) models.
Light operate: N.O. output conducts when the sensor sees its own (or the emiꢁer's)

Housings are die-cast zinc alloy with black epoxy powder paint finish; lenses are acrylic
Dark operate: N.C. output conducts when the sensor sees dark

Protected against false pulse on power-up and conꢀnuous overload or short-circuit of
outputs
WARNING: Electrical connecꢀons must be made by
qualified personnel in accordance with local and
naꢀonal electrical codes and regulaꢀons.
Overload trip point ≥ 150 mA, typical, at 20 °C
Output Response Time
Diffuse and retroreꢃecꢀve modes: 1 millisecond on and off
Opposed mode: 1 millisecond on, 0.5 millisecond off
Fiber opꢀc mode: 0.25 millisecond on and off
Overcurrent protecꢀon is required to be provided by end product applicaꢀon per the
supplied table.
Overcurrent protecꢀon may be provided with external fusing or via Current Limiꢀng,
Class 2 Power Supply.
Environmental Raꢀng
Supply wiring leads < 24 AWG shall not be spliced.
