The DADA series film capacitors from UCC/NCC are designed for use as noise limiters in high  
voltage applications. Because of the wide voltage range of 160 to 1,250 volts, these film capacitors  
are suitable for many applications, even those with small AC voltages. The DADA capacitors are  
available with a 10% tolerance.  
Summary of Specifications

Capacitance range: 0.0022 to 4.7µF.  
Voltage range: 160 to 1,250VDC; 75 to 440VAC.

Humidity Load Life Test  
In accordance with JIS-C-5102 test conditions, the following specifications shall be satisfied  
when the capacitors are cooled and kept at 20C for approximately 16 hours after applying  
the DC rated voltage for 500 240 hours at 40 2C, 90-95% RH. After the initial load  
test, the withstand voltage (terminal-to-terminal) shall be tested by applying 130% of the DC  
rated voltage through a series resistor of 20-1,000 /volt for 1 minute.

Load Life Test  
In accordance with JIS-C-5102 test conditions, the following specifications shall be satisfied  
when the capacitors are restored to 20C after applying125% of the DC rated voltage at  
85 2C for 1,000 48,0 hours or125% of the AC rated voltage (50 Hz) at 70 2C for  
1,000 48,0 hours. After the initial load test, the withstand voltage (terminal-to-terminal)  
shall be tested by applying 150% of the DC rated voltage for 1 minute. The voltage shall be  
applied through a series resistor of 20-1,000 /volt for the load and withstand voltage tests.

1. Storage  
6. Voltage Derating for Pulse Waves  
The DADA series film capacitors must be stored between  
40C to 85C.  
The voltage derating rate for pulse waves at a maximum  
operating temperature of 70C is shown in Figure 2 for a  
a
drop time (t) of less than 15s or Figure 3 for drop time  
2. Operating Temperature  
(t) of 15s or more. Waveforms for Vp-p and Ep-p (sinu-  
soidal AC voltage) and the formula for determining the  
frequency (Hz) are shown in Figure 4.  
Generally, the operating temperature is the ambient tem-  
perature; however, the operating temperature will be the  
surface temperature of the capacitor if self-heating occurs  
due to ripple current or a charge-discharge current, or if  
surface heating is caused by other components.

5. Maximum Pulse Voltage Moving Rate  
For the DADA series film capacitors, the maximum pulse  
voltage moving rate (permissible dv/dt), not repeatable, is  
specified in Table 2. If there is a possibility of exceeding the  
spike surge indicated, please connect a resistor in series.
