chassis design. By designing the chassis
to fit the motherboard, Lanner offers
a network storage solution with a
perfectly-fitted, slim form. Compared
to chassis’ from generic manufacturers,
Lanner offers the latest in easy to service
technology, including replaceable drives,
power supply, motherboard and fans.
3U Enterprise Network
RAID Storage Server
The RS12-38800 supports three network
modules for easy customization.With
a range of module choices; fibre, fibre
by-pass, 10G, 10G bypass, or a host of
GbE RJ45 modules, Lanner makes it easy
for you to mix and match to build the
platform you require.
12-Bay RAID Storage
A hardware RAID card provides RAID
features for enhanced data reliability. RAID
levels 0, 1, 10 and 5 are supported across all
12 SATA II or SAS interface hard drives.
Core Architecture
Built around the Intel 5000P chipset, the
RS12-38800 supports two Quad-core
Intel Xeon processors, 8 fully buffered
Dimms, and two PCI-Express networking
modules. The RS12-38800 supports
12 hot-swappable hard drives, while
an optional Cavium encryption engine
offloads layer 4 processing to reduce CPU
load and deliver more efficient system
performance.

High storage density for enterprise-
class network security applications,
such as firewall, UTM, antivirus, IDS/IPS,
VPN, content filtering, load balancing,
bandwidth management and WAN
acceleration.
Thermal Management
Lanner understands the importance of
thermal management to prolong the life
span of electronics. Internal components
and mechanics are designed together to
allow for maximum cooling. Because the
RS12-38800 is designed from the ground
up by a team of engineers, thermal
considerations have been carefully
considered and designed into the final
product for continual stable operation.
