Following the design of the Intel
LGA 1156 CPU socket, the FW-
8760 sets a new benchmark for
performance and throughput
for network appliances. It is built
around the Intel 3450 chipset and
supports the 32nm Intel® Core™
i3 or i5 CPUs, the latest offering
from Intel.
The FW-8760 has 8 onboard eth-
ernet ports, all controlled through
the Intel 82574 providing Gigabit
Ethernet. With each port sup-
porting bypass, this appliance
can support 4 pairs. The optional
module can add an additional 8
ports, making a total of 16 ether-
net ports.
Maximize your RAM
PCIe and mini PCI Expansion
The FW-8760 can be further cus-
tomized by adding an additional
2 PCIe (x)4 lane slots or a PCIe
(x)8 lane slot; with a clock speed
of up to 3.33 GHz the FW-8760
is capable of handling a good size
network setup.
With 4 dual channel DDR3 240
pin DIMM slots, this networking
appliance can max out at 16GB
of RAM, making certain that your
CPU can process as quickly as
possible.
