3-PHASE FM COIL
FM COIL
3-phase FM coil is a small-type, high-performance differential mode choke coil for line noise filters,made
by using Fe-based nano-crystalline soft magnetic developed by Hitachi Metals,Ltd. They are endowed with
unique characteristics and ensure excellent performance,compared with the conventional differential mode
choke coils employing ferrite cores.
1.FEATURES
1.Has high inductance, compared with the conven-
tional differential mode choke coil of the same
size-over five times higher at 10kHz and approx-
imately twice higher at 100kHz.
2.Highly effective in reducing impulse noise due
a high maximum flux density of 1.35T.
3.Has high impedance in a wide frequency band,
due to a small Q-value compared with that of
differential mode choke coils employing ferrite
cores. Effective in controlling AC powerline
conducted emissions around a frequency of
several hundreds MHz and over the frequency
range of several MHz to 10MHz,which is
very difficult to a chieve with differetial mode choke
coils employing ferrite cores.
4.Due to high Curie temperature of 570deg.C,the FM
coil manifests stable magnetic characteristics at a
higher temperature range,compared with the diff-
eremtial mode choke coils employing Co-based
amorphous cores,and its inductance does not drop
as sharaply as that of differential mode choke coils
employing ferrite cores at a lower temperature range.
5.As FINEMETs are nano crystalline materials,
inductance does not deteriorate dramatically over time.
2.MAJOR APPLICATIONS
Computers,peripheral terminals,copiers,communi-
cation equipments,UPS,speed adjusters (inverter,AC
servo),industrial machines (NC machine,robot,welding
machines),automatic vending machines,carelectronics,
broadcating equipments,medical equipments,etc.
