Functional Diagram
General Description
The HMC288MS8 & HMC288MS8E ꢁre broꢁdbꢁnd 0-
bit positive control GꢁAs IC digitꢁl ꢁttenuꢁtors in 8 leꢁd
MSOP surfꢁce mount plꢁstic pꢁckꢁges. Covering ±.7 to
0.7 GHz, the insertion loss is tꢀpicꢁllꢀ less thꢁn 1.2 to
1.8 dB. The ꢁttenuꢁtor bit vꢁlues ꢁre 2 (LSB), 4, ꢁnd 8
dB for ꢁ totꢁl ꢁttenuꢁtion of 14 dB. Accurꢁcꢀ is excel-
lent ꢁt ± ±.0 dB tꢀpicꢁl ꢂith ꢁn IIP0 of up to ꢃ+1 dBm.
Three bit control voltꢁge inputs, toggled betꢂeen ± ꢁnd
ꢃ0 to ꢃ+V, ꢁre used to select eꢁch ꢁttenuꢁtion stꢁte ꢁt
less thꢁn +± uA eꢁch. A single Vdd biꢁs of ꢃ0 to ꢃ+V
ꢁpplied through ꢁn externꢁl +K Ohm resistor is required
ꢂhile occupꢀing less thꢁn 14.8 mmꢄ.
