M ODULAR PLUG-JACK CONNECTORS

GENERAL
Developed by W estern Electric Inc. in the U.S., the TM Series are telephone connectors m anufactured by us under a patent
license from the com pany.
Com plying with the Federal Com m unications Com m ission (FCC) Title 47, Part 68, Subpart F Standard, the TM Series are easy to
operate and resistant to harsh environm ental conditions. They are available in a variety of m odels for prevention of EM I on plugs
and jacks and form odem conversion, so they can be used fortelephones, radio equipm ent, and com puter-related applications.

FEATURES:
(1) Easy to operate. Can be locked by a single operation.
(2) The gold-plated contacts are highly resistantto adverse environm entalconditions.
(3) Require m inim alspace forinstallation, being designed forlightweightand com pactsize.
(4) A variety ofjacks are available such as wire lead type, DIP, and EM I-protected to m atch the requirem ents ofyourequipm ent.
(5) Plugs are available forround cables and shielded cables in addition to copper-foilflatm ulti-conductortelephone cables.
(6) Specialhand wiring tools forplug harnesses available.
(7) M odularconnectors are available forRS-232C m odem conversion forcom m unications between com puters.
(8) Eight-core plugs and jacks com ply with ISO 8877 Standard
(ISDN interface connector)

ULSTANDARDS FOR M ODULAR CONNECTORS
These connectors m eet the UL1863 Standard (for com m unications circuit accessories) for m odular connectors to prevent injuries,
and achieve betterelectrical, m echanical, and flam e-resistantproperties. UL 1863 provides, forexam ple, the following:
(1) A rubber probe (φ6.9 ± 0.5 m m ) inserted into the connector m ating face shall be able to be pulled out with a force of 4.45 N
orless.
(2) Insulating m aterialsshallbe flam e-resistant(UL94V-0).
