Dual-Line Application
C1 = C2 = Cap, C3 = C1 /2.
"A"and "B"are "through" traces.
L1 = L2 = ESL, L3 = 2 x L1
R1 = R2 = ESR, R3 = 2 x R1.
The X2Y EMI Filter Capacitor will not
limit the current capacity of the trace.

Note (1): The simple schematic represents a "worst case" Spice model. Beyond the self-resonant frequency (SRF) each
S21 plot shows 4 to 9 dB better performance compared with calculations predicted using the simple series model.
Note (2): Preliminary S21 data,obtained using an Agilent 8753E Network Analyzer and an ICM fixture,was used to calculate
ESL and ESR.
In general,when the X2Y EMI Filter Capacitor is soldered to circuit traces, both the ESL and ESR will be approximately
15%less than the values show. All S21 insertion loss data was obtained with both X2Y capacitors referenced to ground,as
shown on the next page.
