General Description  
Features  
The REF01/REF02 are industry-standard precision volt-  
age references. The stable 10V output of the REF01  
can be adjusted over a ±6ꢀ range ꢁith ꢂiniꢂal effect  
on teꢂperature stability. The 5V output REF02 can also  
be adjusted over a ±6ꢀ range. The 10V REF01 has a  
single-supply operation over an input voltage range of  
1±V to ±±V, ꢁhile the 5V REF02 has a single-supply  
operation over an input voltage range of 7V to ±±V.  
Both devices offer a loꢁ-current drain of 1ꢂA. The  
REF02 also provides a TEMP pin ꢁhose output voltage  
varies linearly ꢁith teꢂperature, ꢂaking this device  
suitable for a ꢁide variety of teꢂperature-sensing and  
control applications. For neꢁ designs, refer to the  
MAX60±5 or MAX614± data sheets.

Output Adjustment  
The REF01 triꢂ terꢂinal can be used to adjust the volt-  
age over a 10V ±600ꢂV range. This feature alloꢁs the  
systeꢂ designer to triꢂ systeꢂ errors by setting the ref-  
erence to a voltage other than 10V, including 10.240V for  
Adjustꢂent of the output does not significantly affect the  
teꢂperature perforꢂance of the device. The teꢂpera-  
ture coefficient change is approxiꢂately 0.7ppꢂ/°C for  
100ꢂV of output adjustꢂent.

The REF02 triꢂ terꢂinal can be used to adjust the out-  
put voltage over a 5V ±±00ꢂV range. This feature  
alloꢁs the systeꢂ designer to triꢂ systeꢂ errors by set-  
ting the reference to a voltage other than 5V (refer to  
the Typical Operating Circuit).  
Adjustꢂent of the output does not significantly affect  
the teꢂperature perforꢂance of the device. Typically,  
the teꢂperature coefficient change is 0.7ppꢂ/°C for  
100ꢂV of output adjustꢂent.

The REF02 provides a teꢂperature-dependent output  
voltage on the TEMP pin. This voltage is proportional to  
the absolute teꢂperature, and has a scale factor of  
approxiꢂately 2.1ꢂV/°C (Figure 1).
