RALTRON OFFERS WIDE FREQUENCY RANGE IN LVDS OSCILLATOR

Miami, FL: Raltron’s newly released 5 x 7 mm LVDS Clock Oscillator,
CLD Series, provides superior high frequency specifications in a sur-
face mount package. Raltron’s LVDS Clock Oscillator is first to
market.
LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) is a new industry technology,
which provides a low cost; multi-gigabit data transfer (100 Mbps and
higher) on copper cables or printed circuit boards (PCB) traces. LVDS
technology has many advantages including fast bit rates, lower power
consumption (16 times less than PECL), and good noise performance. LVDS uses differ-
ential data transmission of 300 mV. This differential signal is immune to common-mode
noise, which is the primary source of system noise. The low voltage swing of 300 mV
decreases emissions and cross talk problems. LVDS is also becoming the new standard
for high performance hard disks and is already in usage for high-end servers using SCSI-
3 connections.
Raltron’s new CLD Series, Clock Oscillators meets all LVDS criteria, supplying a low jitter
(1 ps RMS max.) frequency range of 60 to 200 MHz with frequency stabilities available at
±20 to ±100 PPM. Nominal supply voltage is 3.3V at 40 mA maximum current consump-
tion. An enable-disable function is available.
Series CLD Crystal Oscillators are priced $6.00 each for 1000 piece quantities and a 6
