1A Low-Dropout Positive Regulator  
FEATURES  
DESCRIPTION  
Dropout voltage 1.3V at 1A output current.  
The SS6117A is a low-dropout three-terminal  
regulator with 1A output current capability. The  
output voltage is adjustable with the use of a  
resistor divider or fixed at 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V,  
or 5V. Dropout voltage is guaranteed to be a  
maximum of 1.5V at the maximum output  
current. The low dropout voltage and fast transient  
response make this device ideal for low voltage  
microprocessor applications. The current-limiting  
and thermal protection reduce the risk of an  
overload condition creating excessive junction  
temperatures.  
Fast transient response.  
Line regulation typically at 0.015%.  
Load regulation typically at 0.1%.  
Current-limiting and thermal protection.  
Adjustable output voltage or fixed at 1.8V, 2.5V,  
2.85V, 3.3V, 5V.  
Standard 3-pin power packages.  
APPLICATIONS  
Post Regulator for Switching Supplies.  
Active SCSI Termination.  
Battery Chargers.  
Constant-Current Regulators.
