INTRODUCTION  
Non-magnetic products are very important for applications that generate a magnetic field, and  
for equipment operating in this sensitive environment. For example, magnetic capacitors can  
be harmful in some magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) applications, where the following effects  
may be present:  
• Static magnetic field  
– Mechanical forces on ferromagnetic components  
• Modulated radio frequency (RF) field  
– RF interactions with the device (over- and under-sensing)  
• Gradient magnetic field  
– Induced voltages  
• Combined field effects  
– Alteration of device function because of EMI  
– Mechanical forces (vibration)
