The SCSI (Small Computer
Systems Interface) bus is
an electrical transmission
line used to communicate
between a host computer
and its peripherals.
Because a SCSI bus car-
ries high speed electrical
signals, it can be affected
by electrical reflections
which may occur as a result
of an impedance mismatch
within a transmission line
system. A terminator is
designed to closely match
the impedance of a SCSI
bus and consequently mini-
mize the potential for reflec-
tions. The most significant
of impedance mismatches
occur at the end of the bus
