Woodhead portable lights successfully balance the compactness

workers need with the toughness required in specific applications.

Rugged materials such as NEoTEX^®rubber, molded high-impact

thermoplastic and nylon, and heavy-duty zinc-plated steel are

utilized to enhance durability and protect lamps, wiring and

contacts against breakage, corrosion and wear. Woodhead lights

are designed to be fully field-serviceable to minimize downtime

and maintenance expense.

The Woodhead Toughness Quotient™

This section includes a comprehensive view of the many portable

lighting solutions available from Woodhead. It also features the

WTQ^™(Woodhead Toughness Quotient) identifier in the upper part

of the page. The WTQ is based on a performance: price ratio on a

scale of 1 through 10. Products are rated according to specific

criteria, including durability of materials, resistance to harsh envi-

ronments, ease of use, ergonomics and safety in relation to price.

A WTQ rating of 1 – 3 indicates reliability and value for general

construction projects. Woodhead products rated 4 – 6 are generally

used in construction, industrial facilities, utilities, shipyards and

other demanding environments. Our most rugged portable lights

are assigned WTQ ratings of 7 – 10. This rating is only given to

products that can withstand the severe conditions found in

shipyards, steel mills, petrochemical plants, and pulp and paper

Woodhead hazardous duty portable lights are designed and manufactured to meet the stringent specifications of NEC Article

500 and are U.L. listed and CSA certified for Class I, Division I, Groups C & D (flammable gases and vapors), and Class II,

Division I Groups F & G (ignitable dust) as well as U.L. Class I, Zone 1, Group IIB. For hazardous duty and wet locations, use

the 12-volt version of our most popular incandescent lamp with an in-line transformer or use with a low-volt workstation.

LOW VOLTAGE WORKSTATION

Woodhead step-down transformers convert 120V power to 12V power for use in wet locations with 12V tools and lights.

Low-voltage workstations are exceptionally durable, easy to handle and service and capable of long continuous operation in

some of industry’s most demanding environments. To protect workers and comply with OSHA, the transformers must be kept

out of the wet location as 120V primary voltage should not be located in such areas. Circuit breakers located on the low volt-

age workstation provide 15 amp protection.

ments. When properly mated with corresponding connectors, Watertite^®devices form an

enclosure that meets the requirements of NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6 and 6P, IP65, 66 and 67, and

can resist high-pressure hose-down up to 1,000 psi. Additional features include: unique

multiple ring seal that locks snugly, protecting against moisture and contaminants, sturdy

compression-type cord grip that provides 205 lbs. of pull-out strength, and a protective
