PR5201 uses a reference photodiode to  
measuretheilluminanceonthechip.  
INCREASINGTHELEDCURRENT  
Throughtheintegratedlinearcurrentregulator,  
this signal can be used to control the LED  
currenttobeattheminimumlevelneededfor  
properoperation,independentofLEDageing.  
TheLEDcurrentneededdependsontheLED  
beam diameter, efficiency, wavelength, and  
other parameters. Typically LED currents of  
5...12mAwillsufficeforahigh-efficiencyLED
