2.4Gbps ATM SONET FRAMER  
(NEASCOT-P70TM)  
NEASCOT-P70 device is a 2.4Gbits/s SONET STS-48c/ SDH STM-16c framer. The device performs all functions necessary  
to insert and extract ATM cells from STS-48c/ STM-16c frame. It is ideal for high-speed ATM switch of LAN or WAN.  
Features  
Supplies the TC (Transmission Convergence) sublayer functions recommended by the ATM Forum and ITU-T.  
Supports the concatenation frame of 2.4 Gbps SONET STS-48c/SDH STM-16c.  
ATM layer interface complies with standard UTOPIA-L3  
Provides abundant OAM functions.  
Can access all overhead areas of transmit/receive frame.  
Transmit/Receive message buffer for J0/J1 trace messages (16-byte or 64-byte length)  
Support frame  
Concatenation frame of 2.4 Gbps SONET STS-48c/SDH STM-16c  
32-bit, 8 M to 104 MHz, LVTTL level FIFO interface

systems, anti-crime systems, safety equipment and medical equipment (not specifically designed  
for life support)  
"Specific": Aircraft, aerospace equipment, submersible repeaters, nuclear reactor control systems, life  
support systems and medical equipment for life support, etc.  
The quality grade of NEC semiconductor products is "Standard" unless otherwise expressly specified in NEC's  
data sheets or data books, etc. If customers wish to use NEC semiconductor products in applications not  
intended by NEC, they must contact an NEC sales representative in advance to determine NEC's willingness  
to support a given application.
